You will be graded on your creativity, attention to detail, as well as the information that you provide. The poster will be presented in class and explained. It should look like a movie poster that you see in the theatres—informative and interesting to the viewer. DUE DATES: ____________ (Poster) ___________(Presentation)

MCAS strategies
Our MCAS testing dates are coming up at the end of the month in April. We have been practicing many strategies to help us while reading. Please have your child utilize these strategies when completing their reading MCAS homework at night.
1. Read the questions first so you have an idea of what you may be asked. This gives students a better focus when reading.
2. Read the passage twice or more.
3. Use the process of elimination by crossing our incorrect answers or "Slash the trash".
4. Find the answers directly in the passage if possible, and re-read to make sure you are selecting the best possible answer.
5. Underlining the answers or part of the paragraph that best helps you solve the question.

Reading Festival Begins Today!
Good Morning!
The reading festival kicks off today! This year is a little bit different than in the past. In an effort to try to simplify things, we are not sending home a minute chart. I have spoken with the students and told them to keep track of their minutes at home. When they add up to an hour they should record it in their agenda book. Once they have 5 hours they should check in with Miss Wood or myself for a sticker. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you & happy reading!!! READ, READ, READ!
